Push On Connector - Range Element

How do I replace a range hood for an over the range microwave?
      

I'm replacing my electric range with gas.  The electric has (I think) a four-wire #6 or #8 cable approx 60ft run with a 40a dual post breaker.  I say "I think" because the wire is behind everything else in the panel.  I see red/white/black wires, but no ground and I can't read the jacket.  Once I cut the main, i'll have a closer look. 



The gas range requires only a 15amp breaker. 

Can I simply replace the breaker with 15A and the 4 prong outlet with a Nema 5-15p?  I'd cap off both ends of the red wire.  Is there some sort of code that says I need to maintain the 40A circuit for a future stove?

Or is there some sort of transformer I can plug into the stove end and avoid all that hassel.  ?
      

When is it necessary to use insulated staples?  I bought a bunch of plain metal staples for wiring my garage with 12/2 and plan on leaving the walls open.  There will be four 12/2 wire leaving/entering the switch box, can I use regular staples and staple two pair of wires side by side up the stud or do I need something else like stacker staples?
      

Our new range hood states is should be a dedicated 15 amp circuit. Is okay to put it on a 20 amp or would that violate code?

Hoping someone can guide me in the right direction. I have essentially no experience with electrical anything unless its a computer, and I am remodeling my Mother's guest room. We picked a pendant light to replace the old flushmount lighting. I've got the old one removed (and yes I have the power off in the room ), and I cannot figure out how to do this based on the instructions given (or on any video I have watched).



There are two copper "wires" coming down from the ceiling. They are both wrapped in black insulation, and they form like a little hoop/circle on the end. The fixture has a copper wire, not insulated, and like a double copper wire insulated with brownish black coating. Sorry...I don't know technical terms here, but I would be happy to post pics.



I just need help installing this thing. I've done flooring and plumbing and everything else you can imagine a chcik might figure out how to do, but I am stumped here. Please help me do this! It doesn't seem like it should be this difficult!

hi everyone.



i am installing 4" recessed lighting throughout my main floor.  my house was built in the 40's and the previous owner installed drywall over the existing lath and plaster ceiling.  so I've cut a trench down the center of my room to drill floor joists to run wiring and cut my holes for the new lights.

the lights are fire rated and do not require insulated cans for a traditional installation in a drywall ceiling.



question i have is with the additional 1/2 to 3/4" of lath and plaster above the drywall, should these lights now have insulated cans or should i be fine with the cans I've got?  there is no insulation in ceiling.



any suggested would be appreciated.

We've put in a new 240v line for the range. My question is- for the rough inspection should this line be connected to the breaker or no?
      

The breaker kicks when I put on the element & oven of the kitchen stove. It is a 40 breaker. What could cause the breaker to kick? Thanks!
      

The connector board for wirng motor broke in pcs when disconnecting wires. Im pretty sure what goes where still. But do I need the board? There is 1 wire that goes to board and nothing else.
